Here are some pictures from the event. This is the Northeast Mississippi District Honor Band. Over twenty-five, different High schools from Northeast Mississippi participated and were selected through virtual audition. Aberdeen had five total to make this group and that was a huge honor and accomplishment for us!
Our students were mixed in with the Mississippi All-State Lions Band students,
the cream of the crop and was challenged by playing college-level music for their concert this past weekend under the direction of Dr. Craig Aarhus from Mississippi State University.
The students performed a full concert on Saturday afternoon with only twelve hours of rehearsal from the time they arrived on Friday at 10 am. The concert was magnificent and sounded like they had been rehearsing for weeks even months! We are so proud of all of them. Even the ones that didn't make group but took time outside of the band to work it up. It was the process that made them better musicians not who made the group!
***ALL SENIOR Band Members that made the district honor band will automatically receive a Full Band Scholarship to ICC if they so choose to accept it.
Way to go Bulldogs!!!!!
